Unless I'm mistaken, the symmetry control on the PAiA Tube Mic Pre controls
gain for the tube section, so that when the blend knob is wound from 'full
SS' to 'full VT' the signal level remains the same. This would be required,
as no two 12AX7 have identical gain characteristics, a fact which is
magnified by the 'starved' operation of the circuit.

By breaking this out to the front panel, don't you create a situation where
the blend control acts like a vol control as well?

Just thinkin...
