which Paia unit is better?...

i want to build a mic and guitar preamp for my HD recorder.

I'd like to buy it out of PAIA and build it (unless you guys recommend a
better way)
Which is better? 

their stereo compressor (9601)? 
their direct interface (9110)?
their vaccum tube amp (9305)?
their tube mic preamp (9407)?
(i already have the stack in the box, how does that factor in in this
comparrison?)

or from Craig Anderton's book, the Preamp(CA-1)? and Compressor and Limiter
(CA-8)?

keeping in mind that i want to record both bands and my own electronic music.
which means i will recording anything from overdriven half stacks to low
impedence keyboards.

p.s. I am getting a Roland Vs-840 , just for reference
