I'm in the states, yes, but I couldn't find the panels you're referring to
on the page.. nor do any searches seem to find anything. Perhaps because
the web page abbreviates everything so much my searches just don't see it.
Mouser has panels for not-so-cheap... $13.90 for a 2U panel.. but they're
1/8" thick, which is nice. I'd prefer something cheaper, but I'll take
what I can get. I've tried midwest analog products 19" panels, but they're
pretty soft, not so cheap, and bend with jack insertion. Very
dissapointing. I don't want any more flukes like this. On non-modular gear
(eg fatman) it's not that much of an issue, but when you're
inserting/removing so many 1/4" jacks it really is of primary importance.
Schaeffer is getting more and more appetizing... but the $$ is a problem.
Mostly I worry about labeling problems... but that's been discussed here
quite a bit in the recent past. I'm debating printing up a graphic with
all the appropriate bits on it and then epoxying it to the panel... this
certainly seems the nicest "budget" option. I get depressed thinking of
doing dry-transfers again... doesn't seem to be worth the time, and it's
just generally a royal pain to sit down and do.
