aluminum plates and profiles

At the moment I have a similar problem. I consider putting
the HiFli into a 19" / 3 or 4 HE box, and have the front panel made at
Schaeffer.
I can think of two alternatives: Buy one of these black 19" boxes from
Conrad Electronic. They are very nice, with two handles left and right, and
cost
under DM 100,- . Then I would replace the blank panel with the one from
Schaeffer.
I also think about using a Schaeffer Front panel and a wooden enclosure.
I will have all inputs and outputs on the front panel, anyway, so I could
build the rest from plywood. Very cheap, and you won't see it as long
as it's rack mounted.
