Dual npn transistor with common emitter, which aparently was the standard
choice in many Korg and Roland synthesizers. I don't have any specs or
data sheets, unfortunately. It's very easy to use, as it's a 5 pin SIL
package
(b1, c1, e1/2, c2, b2).

PS: I was wrong with "less than DM 1,- . That's without VAT. So it's
slightly more than DM 1,- at Reichelt Elektronik.
