I agre with Martin here because the way to use the FM synthesis in a
DX/TG
is to do some level scaling to actually reduce the modulators amplitude
in
to the carriers. This is a important issue to get clean sounds out of any
FM machine, applying this to the K2000 to makes cleaner and nicer
sounds.

And other nice things is: 12 separate outputs, loopable ENV's
several gaussian noise generators,(noo need to use sampled noise)
2 LFO's 45 algos,16 waveforms on each oscillator, carrier as modulator,
setting the phase on each osc's,etc. Programmable algos' and feedback
routings
its wery easy to do 6 sawtooth osc's just using the programable feedback
routing,
not available on any other FM from Yamaha other then the TG77/Sy99.

yes ,the PCM samples is crap particullary the percussion are just waste
of
RAM space, actually i was into the same ideas as Barry Klein (hello
Barry :))
some years ago, was into his Korg W-station to replace the internal PCM
samples
with some better ones, i did some design around this but i newer come to
shot so to say, the main reason was i needed a software that could
record
sample editing and saving the samples into a Mot S19 or Intel hex format
so it was possible to program the PROM in a eprom programmer.(This was
in 1991).
Infact there was someone or some company who had done this, i saw a
addvert
in some magazine for just this thing and they sold even the prom's
with different samples setts, but it was expencive as i can recall it.
Hmm,It may bee the same company who made the card programmer to the
roland D50 and the Korg M1, and if that's soo then its a german
company??
