my troubles with resonance on the cem 3378

i'm still working on my filter box. it is a manually controlled (pots
controlling freq and reso) lpf built around the cem3378. originally i had
some trouble with the powersupply, but with the help you all sent i figured
it out.
(i needed -5v,+5v,+12v. So, first i followed paul s.' advice and
bought a nice supply, then i built my own circuit to convert a 12v wallwart
into the required voltages using a 7905 and some caps, thanks john b.)
now my problem is this resonance thing. with 5v going to the reso CV, the
filter has a very subtle resonance (not at all squealchy). i have followed
paul s.'(the cem guy) instructions on hooking up manual control. but i
cannot get it to work.
(i don't think it is the chip. i have four and the same occurs with
all of them)
has anyone had this problem?
alternatively, would it be possible for me to built my own resonance
circuit?(with op amps?) [i need a resoLPF for a music project i'm working
on, and would like to juryrig this thing, even if i have to sacrifice
signal-to-noise. after newyear i will try to get the built-in reso
working.}
thanks in advance for the help,
adam.
