Mellotrons must be in the air.  

(Or is that the sound of two clouds kissing?)

Keyboard magazine's January 1998 issue has (p. 12 top left corner if you 
read your copy standing at the magazine rack) a brief list of hints on
how to make samples sound more like a Mellotron, a kind of by-ear 
reverse-engineering.  See "Instant Mellotron" (check out the itsy bitsy
