Using the Nord Modular editor is a great idea. That way, very
complicated visual files can be downloaded as simple text files...
Hmmm. I just had a thought. Since the Nord Modular editor outputs
simple text files (that are then sent to the Modular via MIDI), I wonder
how hard it would be to write a program that converted the text files
into a format that CSound could use? That way, any patch on the Nord
Modular could be heard for FREE, assuming that modules that were similar
to the Nord algorithms could be programmed in CSound. Also, it would be
a GREAT editor for creating CSound patches! Anyone have any input?
A program that converted Nord Modular files into Extended CSound would
be even cooler, as Extended CSound might be able to run the Nord patches
in real time, depending on the power of the SHARC chip.
As far as space for a patch database, well, I am going to be getting A
LOT more space very soon...I'll keep the list posted...
