Hi All,
Several projects on the boil at the moment; the main one is having the PCBs
made for the rack mounted VCF. Thanks to Steve R and Paul P for making me
find another supplier to get those prices really low. Present costs could be
20UKP inclusive of P&P, but I will keep you posted on that.
But the reason I write is to tell you about the SSM2000 ic. This is single
ended noise reduction unit that anyone can buy... no licenses here. It looks
great for keeping BBD stuff clean, although how much better than companding
systems I will have to find out. It has two VCAs and two VCFs per chip, and
you can use it for stereo compression... not true stereo because it has only
one control chain. Price is 9UKP from Maplin. Might be good for a twin VCA.
Data is probably available at the AD website. I got mine from the Maplin
data CD, so if someone needs it I can give it to them.
