O.K here is the final dope on my $10 harmonic sweetner. See Aphex's
original patent of 17 April 1979 at:

It is interesting reading. They use a single diode clipper for
harmonic generation claiming both even and odd harmonics generated.
They first run the signal through a high pass filter (3-4K0 then the
clipper then another high pass filter at 6Khz. the patent is
interesting reading actually, they cover the bases of electronically
mixing the two signals or acoustically via separate amp and speakers
for the original and harmonics. Based on the date and adding 17 years
I can commercially use my circuit as of April 17th 1996, so I was off
a couple years. My article description in the sept 1987 Electronic
Musician reads very close to thier patent description but I didn't
read that until today! Cool.
