MIDI devices

Hi All,
Thanks to everyone who helped with my unknown MIDI devices; I've got the
situation well under control.
Apparently, the Roland MPU-IPC is a two-part system, and I've only got the
external box. If anyone can supply me with a PC (or C64...) internal card,
I'd be much obliged. BTW does anyone know why they used a 25-PIN parallel
printer connector on the MPU-IPC box? Seems like WAY to many lines... (The
MIDIman only needs 9!)
They didn't make a version that connects to the parallel port, did they?
That would expalin the connector at least.
The MIDIman interface is now installed, and controlling my Fatman/EML
combo. The folks at MIDIman were very helpful to this end. Interestingly
enough, they dissuaded me from using their own driver, in favor of that
which is part of the Cakewalk system; they said Cakewalk's is better! Now
how's that for honesty?
Thanks again,
Bill Layer
