Quantizer again

Just another idea.
If I already have 12 switches for the semitones, I might
as well have 12 LEDs. Each time the comparator triggers
the S&H for the quantized output, it can also trigger a latch
and thus turn on the coresponding semitone LED. This
would combine the advantages of analogue sequencer and
software sequencers: Turn a knob for fast control, and see the
quantized result indicated by the respective LED. One would
arrange the LEDs and switches in a 1-octave keyboard layout
on the frontpanel, of course ...
I am pretty sure that I will implement this. Not so sure about
the next step further, however: replace the semitone switches
with pushbuttons. Like these Shadow keys that include a LED.
Problem is that I need one additional D-Flipflop and an extra
CMOS switch for each semitone.
This is all just theory so far. At the moment I'm soldering stupid
input / output / debounce logic.

JH.
