Sequencer Update

Yes, Phillips is "the hot ticket" - thanks Ingo!

BTW, when describing the flash ADC I built I said it used a quad "AND"
gate, sorry, that should've been "OR" (4071).

These Phillips datasheets have some interesting chips for sequencers
that I hadn't noticed before - especially for the quantizer we were
discussing...

The 4520B is a dual async binary counter that could handle the counting
for both the octaves and the semitones. You could make a simple
transistor "AND" circuit with inputs from bits 2 and 3 (counting from 0)
of the semitone counter and the output going to the semitone reset and
the octave counter input - and if 8 octaves was enough of a range, you
could just tie bit 3 of the octave counter back to it's reset, or make
another AND circuit for 10 or 12 octaves...

The 4515B is a 16channel multiplexor (line decoder) with built in latch.
This is the perfect thing for that LED-showing-the-note thing I was
talking about, and also for the semitone decoder. They are almost 30%
cheaper than the 4067 - probably because they are not analog muxes, or
maybe because of the smaller package.

Lastly, the 4754B (18 segment LED driver) would be a cool replacement
for the (4) 339's + resistor ladder in the flash ADC circuit, but I
don't know what the price is and none of my current catalogs carry it.
