I found your recent discussion on using a CMOS NOR gate input  as a level
detector for resetting the flip flop quite interesting, as I did exactly
the same thing back in the old days.  Very simple, and works well, except,
as you noted, you need to set a trim pot to allow for process variations on
the CMOS gate threshold.

Regarding my Electronotes VCO design, I just posted a suggested change to
solve a potential instability in the exponential convertor.  You may have
already found this problem long ago, but if not, you may want to make this
change.
