Digisound 80 Ring Modulator questions....

 I'm hoping to biuld a stereo ring modulator based on the schematic that
was provided to the list by someone.  I have many questions, and would
appreciate it if someone could answer some of all of them.

 - Does the power supply have to be 15V and bi-polar?  - could I use a
   smaller voltage? 

 - I intend to make a R.Mod for each channel, L+R.  Could I use one power
   supply for this, or would I have to find two?

 - The carrier signal input; would any oscillator circuit suffice?  
   Should it be at line level voltage?   
   What waveforms and control would you need; - as many and as much as
   possible? - or a simple oscillator?
