In my EMS Synthi Clone, I have used an LM380 (with feedback
for high output impedance) to drive the reverb tank. At high
input levels, the "sproing" noises increase dramatically, so
maybe one doesn't loose that much with a limited input power.
But with this dual reverb tank trick, these noises should partially
cancel each other, so higher drive levels might be even more
interesting (?). Haven't tried it, but it seems reasonable ...
