A 6dB/8ve filter with resonance is a nice thing. When I made the filter
modification for my OB-8, I found that the same node that carries the
HP output in 2-pole mode (SVF), is the first of four stages in 4-pole
mode. It's not a ladder filter, but the idea is the same.
It is useful if you want to have resonance without too much loss
above (or below) the cutoff frequency. Good for all kinds of
"bright" sounds.
