Nonlinear circuit ideas needed

A full wave rectifier has a V-shape, you can add offset and invert this
to get shifted/mirrored shapes from that. A diode network could
make the breakpoint a bit softer (like in a tri-sin shaper).
This comes close to the desired U-shape. A vca in front will
controll the steepnes of both branches.
