I'm sure that critical questions about the circuits we present to
the list are a good thing. I can't think of any of my own circuits
that could not be improoved at one end or the other, and so I am
thankful for any critical voice. "Does this really work" is either
a chance to expand my knowledge (looking at the limits of my
circuit), or to boast with a good explanation *why* it actually
works, even if it's not obvious at first glance.
Absolutely agree. Besides all the interesting stuff happens at the
edges of circuit operation, so that's the part that's really worth
discussing.
And "Does this thing really work?" might also be an abreviated way to
ask what problems you had to solve in the process of making it the
circuit operate in the real world and to share insights about it.
I'd treat it as a good thing.
