Wow, I built and mod'd that kit when in jr. high!  Later, I had a lot of fun
with voltage-controlled parallel BP filters driven by an analog sequencer for
dynamic output, using their formant frequencies as a baseline.  Sadly, I lost
the book.  Have you tried web searches on any of the research cited there?
