Mmmmmm <takes long pause while contemplating reply....>

Most of the time I'm quite happy just cruisin' the waves, but now and
again I feel the urge to open my literal mouth (yeh, I know, "a closed
mouth gathers no feet" etc etc) and ponder in public.

To Tom, I would look upon this sort of "discussion" in the same way
that I view people who "discuss" how fast their souped-up ordinary
cars are: "I've re-bored mine", "I've put a flared exhaust on mine",
etc etc. Me, I drive a Lotus Esprit S3. See what I mean? My advice
     - ignore them.

As for those who have been seen to criticise Tom's work, my 2 pence
worth (we don't have any cents in the UK...) is to refrain from
publicly criticising such work. Please bear in mind that this work is
all voluntary - no-one gets paid to design these circuits and put them
on websites for all to enjoy. It usually takes a lot of effort to do,
and getting kicked in the ankles for your efforts is usually not
     considered encouraging.

True, Tom's circuits may not stand up in court in front of such
marvels as the Moog, but so what. What matters is that they produce
something that you find useful, pure sine or not-so-pure sine.
     Whatever turns you on.

Remember, the art of circuit design is to design a circuit that meets
your requirements and NO MORE! How do you know that Toms'
requirements are the same as yours? Probably not. So, read and
     enjoy.

     Here endeth the sermon.

Me, I tinker about with odds and ends. Anyone want a discussion on
additive synthesis using Walsh functions...? I thought not - oh well,
     back to sleep.........
