Identify unknown MIDI devices

Hi All,

I got some MIDI stuff this weekend at a Garage sale, but I dont know quite
what it is, or if it's of any use in this era.

Item 1: A 'MIDIMAN" pc sequencer setup, made by MIDIMAN of California.
Dated 1991, this set includes a circuit card for an IBM compatible, a cable
which when connected to the card provides a MIDI in and MIDI out
connection, a set of softwares including CuBase, CakeWalk etc. and a
software manual. The box is labeled "The worlds fastest MIDI interface: The
MIDIMAN-400" or something.

Is it worth messing with, or too slow and outdated?

Item 2: A Roland unit with some generic designation (like) MDI-TPU or
something. It is a metal box 8 inches long with some MIDI in & out ports, a
metronome port and such. The box has a cable attached, which terminates in
what appears to be a male printer port plug.

What is it, and does it require an additonal interface card or something?
If the designation is important, I can get it when I'm home tonight.

Thanks in advance!
