What *IS* Deoxit? I have never heard of it. In my job (video editing) we
used Rawn TF freon solvent until it was banned in California. Now we use
denatured alcohol to clean heads etc., but it is not as good. (I still have
a few cans of freon at home, labeled "OZONE AWAY" in big letters.)

So, what is Deoxit, why does it suck, what's the alternative, etc.?

Also, [segue into a real diy question] does anyone know the value of the
volume pot on a SCI Six-trak? 10K log? 100K? My volume knob is pretty much
trashed. I guess I could put an ohmmeter to it, but I'm sure somebody
already knows.
