Well, us newbies (i.e. me) wouldn't mind a short discussion on these
trivial matters :-)
I meant conceptually trivial. Ie., going from a voltage-controlled
device to a light-controlled device without any other changes isn't
all that interesting.
But if you say, "Hokay, we can just slip dozens of these LDR critters
anywhere we want in a circuit for cheap", it opens up some doors and
creates a new way of thinking. Or look at a circuit that could use a
dozen control voltages at the same time (as most synth modules use
only one or two control voltages at the same time).
Here's another one: Use a number of LDRs to determine the output
waveform of an oscillator, either sequentially (draw the waveform), or
mixing outputs of a pseudo-random shift register, or multiple PWM
outputs.
