asm-1, what, no sine wav?

it just struck me as kindof odd that the asm1 doesn't have a sine wav
generator. wouldn't this be of utmost importance for the patch artist to
have? i know it's hard to make a clean sine wave, but i've heard of a
couple circuits that aren't too hard to make. is it just that a
sinusoidal function would require a separate generator, whereas the
square & sawtooth can be created with the same chip?
