Scrolling through my DigiKey catalog...and look what I found!
under "interface/data transmission" IC's

   SSI part #      LTC1320CSW
   Description               IC LN TRANSC
                                 "APPLETALK" SO18

This sounds like something to do with the mac speech program..
There it is...  open for research/discussion/speculation..anyone??
