MIDI-to-Speech Converter?

Hi-

On the Macintosh computers, inside of simpletext program is a
simplespeech function. Somebody named Ichi, I believe, developed an
object for the MAX gui midi programming language that allowed many
variables of the speech synthesis to be addressed. Speed, pitch, and
other controls could be accessed via midi, configurable to whatever one
wished. The object, "I-speak", is available on the IRCAM site in the
MAX section, and requires MAX 3.5.
Not as elegant as a standalone, but I know of know easily accessed LPC
boxes. Until I find that speak'n'spell at a garage sale...

Daryl
