DIY synth

Hi to all, I'm new to this mailing list. I built an Elektor Formant analog
synthesizer in the late seventies which I gave away to a youth project in
1989. Maybe I regret that a bit today because my Formant was a real good
sounding machine with 3 VCOs, 24 db VCF and so on. Of course it lacked MIDI.

I consider to build a new analog synth maybe with MIDI control. I read
something here about ASM1 but have no idea what that is. Any advice which
synth to build is highly appreciated.
