You could probably take the contacts from an old generator or motor.

How's this for an even stupider idea:  Place a battery powered monitor
connected to a radio receiver on a turntable.  Mic this setup with the mic
facing the rotating speaker.  Send the signal you want to "leslie" to the
XMTR.  You could use a cheap wireless mic for this.  Don't worry about the
weight.  I have an old Rec-O-Cut that could pull a beer wagon :)
