Hi,

(1)

just wanted to inform you that the first version of Synthi Clone stuff is on
my
page at synthfool now (Thanks, Kevin !):

http://www.synthfool.com/diy/hj.html

There's a low resolution screen shot of the front panel so far.
(And it reveals a stupid little error I've made - who finds it ?)

I also plan to publish circuits of the mod's and additions I make,
if there is some interest. No schemos of the original
EMS stuff, however. (EMS is still in business, and I don't want to hurt
anybody, including myself ...)

The Clone itself is heavily under construction. I got the front panel
and matrix earlier than I expected, so I only have 70% of the circuits
ready so far. I am just wiring these together, and I start playing
around with a partial Synthi, and it's so much fun that I use some
additional
wires with alligator clips just to try this and that. The final connections
to the matrix take some time, because I fix everything with heat shrink
stuff
and use shielded cables throughout. And I ran out of shieled cable on
the weekend. 8-(

New ways to tell if you hang arounds synths too much:
# 356:
You run out of cables to do the internal wiring of your latest diy
project, and start cutting plugs from studio cables to get new
resources for shielded wire.

I got a mail from Mr. Schaeffer today. He was pleased by the
feedback he got from diy-listmembers, and he asked me to announce
that he decided to write an english version of the front panel design tool
now. He spoke of a version with English menu entries within one weak (!),
though the translation of the online help will take longer, of course.
So look again at
http://www.schaeffer-apparatebau.de/
by the end of the week.

Just wanted to pass this on.

JH.
