IIRC this is correct, an MC796 is an LM1496, but in a TO case as opposed to DIL. 
The problem part in the Bode Pitchshifter is the MC795, which is the LM1495 
under a different name, and unobtainable as either. You might try a similar 
translation on the other parts and see if it makes sense....
