Hi,

some of you asked me to tell you about my experiences with the front
panel for my Synthi Clone.

I didn't want to drill such a large panel myself, not to speak of the
rectangular
cut for the matrix or the lettering of matrix rows and columns. So I was
looking
for a professional solution, and I found this web page with a free
downloadable
front panel design editor, and a company that would manufacture the panel
directly from this program's data.

To make things perfect, the program even
calculates the price of the final panel, updated with every hole you drill
or text
you add. So you know exactly what you're doing *before* you contact the
manufacturer and ask for a pricing.

I tried it, and I didn't make experiments with smaller test objects, but
ordered
a 19" x 18" monster right from the start.

The panel arrived yesterday, and it looks excellent.
I started mounting potentiometers, vernier dials, loudspeakers, the
joystick, the
matrix, the meter ... and everything fits perfectly.

I am very pleased with the results, and I will definitely have my next panel

manufactured there, too.

Highly recommended!

JH.
