I might as well toss in my view on pots...

I think your choice of pot depends on your eventual goal.  If you are just starting out and low on cash and building something for the first time - go with the cheaper pots.  Later, when your designs are finalized and you know what is used most - upgrade your pots if you feel it is justified.  The choice of pot will not greatly affect the sound or reliability in the near term and you can always upgrade as time goes by.  I think what people are interested in is what is the best choice and why - for the low cost solutions.  If you are selling a product like Paul is, the choice has to be a more long term one and he can't afford to take chances on low cost pots without a history.
