You hit the nail on the head here. Suppose not enough people buy and you stop 
coming out with more modules. What happen to the people that have bought the 
previous modules then? They are stuck with half a synth, that's what. Of course 
it can be augmented by modules from other sources, but if the buyer is a 
beginner, it might not be so easy to tell what work together.
I know this sort of "cottage industry" is tough. I have a similar operation 
myself (model railway kits), together with two friends. It is very easy to 
promise more than you can produce. Time schedules usually slip embarrasingly, 
due to a number of factors. We try to avoid promising too many planned kits in 
advance. That always come back and haunt you. It is better to advertise them 
when they are ready to ship. We just show the prototypes and say - these are 
kits that we consider making in the future. Exact when and to what price is not 
decided yet.
