As a user of 16AWG zip cord and other semi-exotic speaker cables, the
zip cord works the best given that mediochre connections do not overide
good wire. For the most part, it is a game of milli-ohms contributed by
all the components involved. These include the power amp circuit, amp
terminals, cable terminations, cable construction and length, speaker
terminals, crossover, in-cabinet wires, speaker terminals, and voice
coil winding. Now the kicker, if and only if the cable is long enough,
then the transmission line distributed reactances, and resistance become
noticable.
