the basic basics of synth design

I'm looking for basic circuit diagrams (or schematics) for the standard
set of modules which I hope to build and integrate into a little synth
for a project I'm doing. VCO, VCA, VCF (resonant if poss.), glide and
envelope generator diagrams are what I'm really looking for, and I've
searched around all the usual suspects (synthfool, music machines etc)
on the web, without much success. I've found lots of schematics, but
absolutely basic, standard diagrams (without tweaks like clock
syncronisation and that) have been suspiciously thin on the ground.

Any ideas about where I can get information like this? Sites? Books?
Anything like that?
