Heres something kinda neat. I hooked up one trace of my scope to the Nord
output and another to my Arp Oddy and ran open filter vco waveforms... It
was kinda cool that the Nord has overshoot and undershoot of its sqr wave
JUST LIKE the ODDY!
It has ringing on the top and bottom of the transitions of the sqr wave!
Very good attn to detail, i must say. And, when you start to filter it, the
ringing goes first, then the sqr wave transitions begin to round off. BUT,
the filter on the NOrd sounds messed up @ Hi res due to the formula they
used ending up in a sort of a divide by zero at certain freqs. As you sweep
the filter, it gets REALLY loud @ certain critical freqs. This is what
makes the Nord definetely NOT analogue sounding at times because you get
gain runaway.
BUT, if i put the vco through the 309, it sounds much better and the sweeps
are c0ntrolled.
