diode ladder vs. tr. ladder ?

	If I recall correctly (It was here or AH..) someone thanked a 
poster for clarifying the sonic/circuitry difference between GE and SI 
diodes in a VCF... I scoured my mail for days after that, hoping to find 
that original post (as I was much looking forward to that comparison) but 
I never located it. Can someone forward it to me, or give me a quick 
synopsis of the differences, please? Thanks muchly in advance-
