 and about the ps (the part you're most interested in): they admit it 'uses
a toroidal transformer to cut down on weight'.  meaning they've dropped the
iron core.

 i may be offbase here, the knowledge on power supplies being rather
simple:  isnt it true that a toroidal xfrmr implies a switcher??

who's in search of a small, low-power (100-200mA?) 6V->12V dc-dc converter.

ps  believe it or not, there's (for sure, just saw the cutaway picture)
count 'em one, TWO amps!!  plus an active crossover...
