No they're NOT. We do bazzillions of analog and digital types here,
with differential Hall-Plates and chopper-amps, all integrated in our
CMOS-process, and I think we get less then $1 for each. I could get
some samples, but no big volumes, since this makes more beaurocratic
cost then the pieces are worth. Normal limit is 100k pieces. I can't
buy that much.
However, there must be some cheap of the shelf sensors out there.
I'm thinking about a pseudo Teremin controll with a magnet, why should
I bother with coils and other rf stuff, if I can get some nice Hall
sensor, three leg device, just power on and there you go.
This *is* a good idea.
