power supplies

This MOTM is a cracking good idea!

Now I have a few friends (I know, it's remarkable isn't it!) that may
get me to build a few modules for them. Is there a problem about making
electrical goods and selling them? Do small run pieces of equipment
have to conform to CE approval or other such EMC laws when assembled
whole? My bets are that they do. Does each module?... or does the fact
it has no internal PSU make a difference? What about the separate power
supply, does that count? This would put the MOTM into the Class III
type of appliance, but I don't know if a small external linear psu has
to conform to CE.

According to the EMC testing houses, a portable AM radio would appear
to need CE approval. Is this true?

But then again I could just build them anyway...
