I <<think>>, I <<hope>> they're still making the 2024 (though I don't think
they still have the data sheet on the web page). I hope so because the 2024
is linear between control current and output current, while the 2164 has
exponential output current relative to a control voltage. The linear is
more versatile for me (VCAs aren't just for audio anymore!)  and I wasn't
able to notice a difference in the sound when I compared them...

I've stocked up on 'em just in case...
