While I would also like to see this, I was thinking about it some more and
realized that if the panels are 3" wide, chances are you're going to have a
hard time fitting in 6 panels (18") I've found most racks need at least
17.5" of clearance between the inside edges of the rails. This is a little
bit of a drag as it limits you to only 5 panels / row - but, that's life
(perhaps this is another plus for some simple modules being "halfsize" -
1.5"). Paul could just sell the modules and a "FracRack - ish" set of
aluminum rails, with threaded holes at 1.5" spacing, and two blank 2" wide
panels for the ends that bridge the gap between the equipment rack rails
and the horizontal modular rack rails....

If you're having a hard time with the visualization, check here;
http://www.paia.com/fracrak.htm

I've found this works quite well and I actually made my own rails from 3/8"
x 3/4" x 20" pieces of solid aluminum designed for a 22" wide case. The
Paia rails are a little flimsy - made from bent sheet metal - but mine are
rock solid (wouldn't want to do it again, though - hand drilling and
tapping of those 24 holes was a real drag - and you have to space them
perfectly).
