Hi Eric,
I also subscribed and also contributed two DIY articles. One was a 9
volt battery eliminator called, "An AC Adapter for Stomp Boxes" and
another was an op-amp based
signal combiner called, "Build It, A Dual Switching Buffer Pedal".
Another two part article was planned for issues four and five called, "A
Performer's Guide to AC Power and Grounding" but got returned when Ed
Dell Jr. pulled the plug on the magazine. His rationale for quitting was
that there was too much competition but I personally disagree. Dismal
marketing was my theory.
Bits of the AC Power and Grounding manuscript (10K words!) will show up
in the Miller-Freeman publications, "Gig" and "EQ" magazines. These were
gleaned by EQ mag's editor, Craig Anderton. My hope is that Craig will
consider a DIY column in EQ magazine that will pick up were Performer's
Audio left off. As you may know, Craig should have a soft spot for DIY
projects.
For what its worth, Tom Henry and I plan the offer the kits for "An AC
Adapter for Stomp Boxes" and "Build It! A Dual Switching Buffer Pedal"
through Midwest Analog Products if
interest is there. Both kits have something to offer Keyboardists as
well as Guitarists.
By the way Eric, when is Svetlana going to offer 7851's (STR 6L6GC) beam
power tubes? Those Sovtek 6L6's can only take so much plate volatage!
