Magazine recommendation?

Sometime ago somebody said that Electronic Musician is just a conduit for advertisement for Japanese equipment.  Being a long time subscriber back to the days when it was just a bunch of stapled pages called Polyphony (C Andteron's magazine) I'll have to agree with that.  It certainly has lost its' roots.  

So my question is can any of you guys recommend a good magazine that is more in line with what the DIY list discusses every day (kinda like what Polyphony used to be)?  I'd like a magazine that deals with electronic music technology in less of a product context and more of a DIY context.
