front panels

.....looking at an old British mil spec for panels noticed that
part of the equipment specs is that rack mount gear must have handles 
which protrude from the front panel further than any knobs or other
attachments........

.....this strikes me as a very sensible thing and one which would 
have saved me tears in the past.......

.....no there didn't seem to be a standard handle depth ;)
