Hmm.. the new vca is the 2164 i asume...

I use the 2164 that are going to replace the 2024 in 
the near future as AD have told mee!
This part allow you to using it as a A or AB device in the
amplifier performance wwith just a programming resistor..

I do find the 2164 sounding exelent and performing 
nicely and not to expensive for a Quad VCA...

AD in USA and Denemark an Germany are OK but AD in sweden are crap....
In speaking off suport from AD's offices...
