Strange, isn't it?
I ran into the same thing with the SSM2024 quad VCA, some time ago.
There was a new VCA announced which should replace the 2024 in "most"
applications (with gilbert inputs, but expo CV, so ...), and so I mailed
AD
about the future of the 2024.
They answered that it was still available and was still produced, but
they
can't tell how long it will be available, because of the little demand.
Well, demand won't exactly increase on parts where the customer is left
in doubt if they will be continued ...
This was the point when I decided *not* to use them in my JH-4 synth,
though I consider the 2024's sound very close to the discrete design I
chose instead.
JH.
