Heh heh, this reminds me of an electronics learning kit I saw years
ago in which components were mounted inside plastic cubes and
connected to one another by means of something similar to a clothing
snap.  The schematic symbol was printed on the top side of the cube
with the leads drawn out to the appropriate snap.  Think of the patch
cable / mess savings!  :P
